[ARCHIVED] HC Commissioners seeking applicants for Health and Human Services Board

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill the following positions on the Haywood County Health and Human Services Board:

  • A Veterinarian
  • An Optometrist
  • A Public Member

Each position will begin serving a 4-year term upon appointment.

For the Veterinarian position, the candidate must be a qualified veterinarian and reside in Haywood County. Both current and retired veterinarians are encouraged to apply.

For the Optometrist position, the candidate must be a qualified optometrist and reside in Haywood County. Current and retired optometrists are encouraged to apply.

For the Public Member position, we seek a candidate to advocate for human services, who resides in Haywood County. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in social work or education to maintain representational balance.

Qualified professionals are encouraged to apply. Each candidate will be serving a 4-year term. Upon completion of the term, appointees serving their first term are eligible to apply for reappointment to a second four-year term. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., December 6, 2024.

 

Application forms may be downloaded from the "How do I... Submit Volunteer Board or Committee Application" section of the county website at https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/9/How-Do-I or picked up from the County Manager's office from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Haywood County Courthouse, third floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville. 

Completed applications may be returned to the County Manager's Office or attached to an email to Haven B. Muse, Deputy Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, at haven.muse@haywoodcountync.gov. For more information, contact the County Manager's Office at (828) 452-6625.
