Tropical Storm Fred Action Plan Public Comment Period
 
NORTH CAROLINA OFFICE OF RECOVERY AND RESILIENCY

The N.C. Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR) is accepting public comment on a draft action plan for spending $7,975,000 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funding provided to the state for Tropical Storm Fred recovery. The draft action plan includes detailed information about how NCORR will use these federal funds to implement disaster recovery assistance in western areas of North Carolina that were designated as Most Impacted and Distressed (MID) Areas by HUD due to impacts from the storm. The draft action plan is available for review on the Rebuild NC website at https://www.rebuild.nc.gov/about/plans-policies-reports/action-plans.  Printed copies of the draft action plan are also available by calling 984-833-5350.

NCORR will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15, 2022, to receive public comments on the draft action plan. The public hearing will be held at the Haywood County Historic Courthouse, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786. The public hearing presentation will be posted online at https://www.rebuild.nc.gov/fred. Written public comments may be submitted by email to publiccomments@rebuild.nc.gov or by U.S. Postal Service mail to: NCORR, Attn: Tropical Storm Fred Action Plan, P.O. Box 110465, Durham, NC 27709. Public comments on the draft action plan must be submitted by 5 p.m. Aug. 30, 2022.  

This public notice is scheduled to be published in The Mountaineer Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
