The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is still seeking applicants to serve a one-year term on the 2024 Board of Equalization and Review (BOER). The deadline for applications has been extended to noon on Thursday, February 15. Applicants will be contacted to set up an interview time for the afternoon of Monday, February 19 unless they have recently served on this board, in which case re-interviews are not required.
The purpose of the BOER is to hear appeals to the value placed on real property for 2024 tax year. The BOER will hear appeals based on a meeting schedule established by the Board of Commissioners. Application forms may be downloaded from the “How Do I…Submit Volunteer Board or Committee Application” section of the county website at https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/9/How-Do-I or picked up from the County Manager’s office from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Haywood County Courthouse, third floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville.
