Haywood County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Scheduled for March 26

The Haywood County Solid Waste Department will be holding a spring Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, March 26 from 12 - 4 p.m. at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 278 Recycle Rd, Clyde.

During this event, Haywood County residents are encouraged to drop off household pollutants free of charge. Haywood County has partnered with Consolidated Waste Services and EcoFLo who will have representatives on hand to collect the following nonpesticide items:

  •  Aerosols
  • Mixed Solvents
  • Mercury & Articles
  • Pesticide Solid
  • Acid Cleaners
  • PCB Ballast
  • Paint Related Material
  • Lab Packs 
  • Latex Paint
  • Lead Acid Batteries
  • Alkaline Batteries
  • NiCad Batteries
  • Lithium Batteries
  • Propane (Grill and Camp Size)
  • Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Oil Filters
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Antifreeze
  • Motor Oil, Kerosene, Diesel Fuel, Transmission Fluid, Hydraulic Oil

Medications and pharmaceuticals can be disposed of at year around collection sites located at each of the police departments or the Sheriff’s office.

This event is only for Haywood County residents. Please do not bring or drop off items prior to the event. Early drop-offs could occur fees and fines.
