Haywood County Health and Human Services offers confidential and voluntary family planning services to individuals of childbearing age — including teens, women, and men — who want to take charge of their reproductive health.

Appointments are required, except for emergency contraception, which is available on a walk-in basis.

What to Bring to Your Visit:

Proof of identification.

Proof of income (income is determined by gross income prior to tax deductions)

Demographics form in advance and bring it with you as well. These forms are also available upon arrival.

Affordable for All

Family planning services are funded in part by Title X, making care low-cost or free depending on your income and family size.

-We accept all forms of Medicaid
-Some private insurance accepted — call us to check
-Cost is based on a sliding fee scale
-No one is denied care due to inability to pay

Services We Offer:

Birth Control & Contraceptive Options

  • Abstinence education

  • Condoms

  • Depo-Provera injections

  • Long-acting reversible contraception (IUDs & implants – 3, 5, or 10 year options)

  • Oral contraceptives, NuvaRing, patches

  • Emergency contraception (Plan B) with counseling

  • Natural Family Planning counseling and referral

Sexual & Reproductive Health Services

  • Physical exams, medical history, and lab work

  • STD diagnosis and treatment

  • Pregnancy testing and counseling

  • Immunizations

  • Multivitamins with folic acid

  • Pre-conception counseling (planning for future pregnancies)

Education & Counseling

  • Guidance on contraceptive choices

  • Reproductive life planning

  • Referrals to WIC and Medicaid, if appropriate

Additional Referrals Available For:

  • Prenatal care

  • Mammograms

  • Infertility services

  • Tubal ligations and vasectomies

  • GED programs

  • Dental care

  • Primary care providers

  • Addiction, domestic violence, or mental health support

  • Skin disorders

  • Smoking cessation

  • Community resources tailored to individual needs
